The Witch Hunter’s Report

Report of the events at the Pouncing Pegasus
For the attention of Master Witch Hunter Wolfram Klemperer

As I mentioned in my previous report, rumours had come my way of a band of blasphemers travelling South-West through the Reikland. Suspicions were raised in Weissbruck by the farrier Hartmann Kampf. He had recently shod a horse which he claimed had a forked tongue! This gentleman, however, was clearly a drunkard, so I deemed his word unreliable. Fortunately, his story was corroborated by a local innkeeper named Humbert Tischler. A more righteous and hardy Sigmarite I have seldom met.

I tracked the group of miscreants along the River Bögen. My theory being that they were headed for the Schaffenfest. I have long harboured the notion that groups such as this use local festivities as a cover to meet.

In the late afternoon I became aware that they had booked rooms for the night at the Pouncing Pegasus, a quaint little tavern on the banks of the Bögen. I have stayed at this inn countless times, but I would have no reservations razing it to the ground if it meant removing just a fraction of the stain the presence chaos leaves on our glorious Empire.

The locals were exceptionally helpful. It took only minutes to whip them up into a righteous frenzy. The peasantry in these parts are fervent followers of our one true faith and give me hope in these dark times.

It turned out to be unnecessary however due to the participation of a band of stouthearted and virtuous travellers staying at the inn. Clearly righteous and blessed by Sigmar, they delivered the evil-doers into my hands and we extinguished the heretics in Sigmar’s name by the cleansing flames of the pyre.

These filthy animals shared a sign that has become all too common of late. Each of them had upon their flesh a tattoo in the shape of a crown coloured red. This troubles me greatly.

May the blessings of Sigmar be on you, as on us all!
