Over the past few days a battery of heinous crimes have been brought to my attention. Though there is currently no evidence to link the events I believe that due to the relatively short period between them and their close proximity we may be looking for a single perpetrator.
The first incident occurred not three days ago in the middle of the night. A river boat was set alight, it’s cargo still intact and crew nowhere to be found. The submerged vessel has caused no end of delays getting goods in and out of Ubersreik.
Secondly, the town of Gotheim has been all but destroyed. The town has been razed and the ford demolished, ruining the crops. But worst of all the entire population has been brutally butchered. Though it seems some kind of beast tore the people apart it’s possible somebody is in control of this monster’s actions.
Finally, just this morning the body of the infamous outlaw Maria Braund was found in a road side ditch, her throat ruthlessly cut. Though few of us are likely to shed a tear at this news we cannot allow crimes of such barbarity to pass unpunished. Her faithful steed Gunther is missing.
There is a pattern to these events, they happened roughly a day apart and their locations follow the path of the river Teufel.
I suggest we begin by trying to find the owner of the boat, regardless of their involvement they have many questions to answer.
Also be on the lookout for any newly acquired horses. If we can trace Gunther maybe we can find Maria’s killer.
