Prologue:

This place is home! It’s always been home.

It doesn’t have a name, it doesn’t need one. For as long as anyone can remember nobody has been outside.

Seven storeys of rock, concrete, and steel. A huge complex holding almost five thousand men, women, and children. All of their needs, food, water, air, and medicine fulfilled by ancient machines.

The only evidence of a place outside is, “The View”. A room on the top floor with one large window. A portal that looks out onto a seemingly endless black void.

Each night a citizen is designated to keep a vigil. Watching for some kind of sign.

Tonight is your night, and tonight for the first time in living memory you see a light in the darkness!
