Episode 2 – The smuggler and the thief

Smuggler: What do you make of Roric’s rise from the dead then?

Thief: Well, I guess the rumours of his demise were a bit of an exaggeration. He looked alive and well to me at Tangletown last night.

Smuggler: How can you say that? I heard Lyssa stabbed him and dumped the body in the canal.

Thief: Really? How do you explain that we’ve all just been in the same room as him?

Smuggler: I’ve heard stories of things like this before.

Thief: Exactly, just stories. Stop acting like a child!

Smuggler: No, no. You’ve never been outside of Doskvol. You wouldn’t believe the things I’ve seen. Men possessed by ghosts in Tycheros and witches making pacts with demons in Iruvia. I’m telling you there’s more going on here.

Thief: Okay, pretend for a second he did die. How did the Spirit Wardens miss it? You know how fanatical they are, they don’t miss a thing.

Smuggler: I’m not saying I have all the answers, I just don’t think this is going to end well for Crow’s Foot.

Thief: You’re joking right? Crow’s Foot has always run smoothly with Roric in charge. These last few weeks have been a nightmare.

Smuggler: I don’t think we’ll see much of Lyssa. My guess is she’ll mysteriously disappear, or maybe have an unexplained accident. She looked terrified the other night.

Thief: If anything happens to her it’s because she made a mess of Crow’s Foot. The Lamp Blacks and Red Sashes are at war. Now Roric has to fix all the damage she’s done. The next few weeks will get messy, and I don’t think he’s going to go easy on anyone. I’ll be laying low for a while, I don’t want to get involved.
